Each to their own I guess, Coal will have its ups and downs (more ups I think as discussed earlier) ... however if the greenies have their way there will be no new coal mines (especially in Australia) so once the existing resources are mined what then for the company and your shares? Hence why I wouldn't mind some diversification to be added .... and if they don't have the necessary skill set then it can be hired or diversification could be added by way of some strategic stakes in other upcoming mining company's as an example so they don't necessarily need the skill set. Alternatively I am also quite comfortable with big fat divvy payments until the company is done and dusted, so long as they don't just sit on massive amounts of cash paying all the directors big fat bonus payments etc which quite often becomes the case when companies become cash cows like this.
