As reported last night on HC the Ocean Rig Athena is on her way. I could hear a faint cheer from all the HC posters and it proves that a watch pot does boil, …………………eventually. ORA’s last reported position shows she travelled 115nmi of the 2,300nmi to get to out leases and is still off the coast of Angola. To my surprise ORA is travelling at 9.8kn as I read somewhere that her max speed was 7.2kn which was clearly wrong. So she should be at our lease by the 26^th or 27^th all going well.

The Polarcus Adira continues mapping, supported by Vos Athos, De Vorouw Marie (DVM) and Baltimore. She continues to map between Djifere to Rufsque . I have gone back to the map that shows the shelf edge as I believe some of the coarse changes yesterday follow this line. Also by stitching each days track together over seven days caused some of the position to be out by 5km (like Chinese whispers). Adira currently appears to be covering the pinch point at the corner of Sangomar and Offshore Profond

This presentation was given in April and they expected farm in partner in Q3, but that has not happened yet. In the half yearly accounts they said

The Company is in farm out discussions with numerous interested parties across the Company’s assets, including The Gambia and Senegal. The recent exploration success of third party operators within this area, namely Cairn Energy in Senegal and Kosmos in Mauritania, has led to a significant increase in the level of interest in these assets. There has been a 60% increase in visits to the Company’s data room during the first half of 2015 from a high calibre set of companies, a number of whom have confirmed their interest in pursuing a transaction and have completed their due diligence. The Company seeks to attract binding offers as soon as possible. Further announcements on progress will be made in due course.

The funny thing is the lifeline that APCL has received was due to the discoveries by our JV and Total. I wonder if the JV or FAR have been talking to APCL

Pinch Points

Yes this is my favourite new term, SNE is at a pinch point, APCL’s Mahogany is between two pinch points. Then we have Sirius and Soleil are both at pinch points, as is the Spica lead (they will change the name of this lead to a star name such as Beetlejuice to match the other shelf leads). When you look at the shelf edge in all the different maps you will notice they are all a little different as one poster stated these are just lines on a map and are only a guide. In addition as soon as information is released by FAR it get used by APCL hence the JV employs a tight hole policy. So from the location of Adira it has spent a reasonable time over the Spica lead which will be drilled sometime in the future.
