The key is an "mcf" is actually the number 1000.
This is the simplest and final way explained on the phone to make sure i understood him right:
So any number in front of the "mcf" is to be multiplied
by 1000 if you are to acheive the total cubic footage.
RULE:
Anything with mcf after it is to be multiplied by a
Thousand (even if it says 131,000mcf
you STILL multiply it by a thousand).
Anything with a mmcf after it is to be multiplied by a Million.
Anything with a Bcf after it is to be multiplied by a Billion.
Anything with a Tcf behind it is to be multiplied by a Trillion.
Simple.
1000mcf is 1000x1000 and is hence a million, and so it can also be written as 1mmcf as well as 1000mcf - NOTE THE m's?
