I saw an interview with Latham on 7.30 report 2 weeks ago and it was worrying stuff, particularly his views on the property market. It was clear that he had little idea with his continued ummings, arrings and contradictions.
Lathams solution to affordable housing isn't to lift interest rates but for the governement of the day to release parcels of land for sale to the public during property booms. The release of this land would bring a supply to match the demand and therefor no property boom.
He also said raising interest rates wouldn't help people save money and improve the debt level of Australians.
Interesting stuff and heaven forbid he ever gets the top job.
