    Other insulation materials cannot compete with a material that is extremely strong and durable under extreme temperatures and best of all will not burn. Carbon Foam in either open or closed cell form will not conduct either heat or the absence of it. It can withstand drastic temperature changes and always retains the shape it was tooled into.

    The insulation advantages of Carbon Foam come from the fact that it’s a 3-D material. The structural network allows it to be lightweight and adjustable to thermal and electrical properties, more so than 2-D materials such as graphene sheets and biomass. Ordinary foam, batten or blown in materials may be sufficient for an attic or the walls of a house but when it comes to the high stress environments found in planes, rockets, cars and ships strength is imperative.

    If you need insulation in a high end manufacturing situation then think carbon foam
