Come on 20103030 - are you implying economists are untruthful?  Economics is a somewhat inexact pursuit anyway, so how can anybody be sure about the truth.  Here is a collection of economic "truth" (wait for the last one) -

    ECONOMISTS
    Q: What is an economist?
A1: an expert who will know tomorrow why the things he predicted yesterday didn’t happen today.
A2: someone who doesn't know what he's talking about - and makes you feel it's your fault.
A3: someone who gets rich explaining to others why they are poor.
If economists got everything right, they wouldn’t be economists very long.  They’d be sitting in the south of France with their feet in a bucket of champagne.
Economists are people who are too smart for their own good and not smart enough for anyone else's.
There are three sorts of economist.  Those who can count, and those who can't.
Q: What do economists and computers have in common?
A: You need to punch information into both of them.
Q: Why did God create economists?
A: In order to make weather forecasters look good.
When an economist says the evidence is "mixed," he or she means that theory says one thing and data says the opposite.
An economist’s guess is likely to be as good as anyone else’s.
The power of prophecy has never loomed large in the endowment of economists.

    ECONOMICS
Economics has gotten so rigorous we've all got rigor mortis.
Economics is the only field in which two people can get a Nobel Prize for saying the opposite thing.
In economics exams, the questions stay the same, but the answers keep changing.
Q: Why has astrology been invented?
A: So that economics could be an accurate science.

    OTHER

The definition of "waste": a busload of economists plunging over a precipice with three of the seats unoccupied.
An economist and an ecologist have fallen from a tall building. The ecologist is panicking, but the economist remains calm. Don’t worry, she says: “demand will create a parachute”.
If you torture the data long enough, even Nature will confess.
