See, this is where I think the market is wrong. China is very pragmatic in their forward-thinking and I thought it was obvious they are now switching from property fuelled GDP growth back to infrastructure GDP growth just like they did in the 2000s with the iron ore boom where they built roads and infrastructure to cities that were not even built as part of their urbanization plan.
The nuclear build is now part of their overall fiscal economic growth policy and as they move to consumption-based GDP growth, they need the energy to make that plan work. Not much good having high consumption of you don't have the energy.
I know the west doesn't fully really understand the China economic model all that well because we usually fly by the seat of our pants and fiscal policy is not used well, but they create jobs via large infrastructure spending and energy is a big part of the next growth phase.
My bet is they expedite the nuclear builds to buffer the controlled demotion in the property phase.
Anyway, each to their own, but was just curious.
