I have no doubt there will be a few funds will carefully dump a few blue chips in the morning of the 19th to make the index fall about 1%. This will trigger a cascade of sellers all wary of the 20th anniversary "oct 19th" factor, more stop losses hit, and the institutions end the day holding lots of cheap shares from the panic they caused.
I would hope ASIC would go back over trading patterns very closely if there is a crash and prosecute those that individuals within the institutions that "manufactured" any crash.
