    the short answer to your Q is yes

    and any shares purchased today (Friday) will NOT carry any entitlement to the options as the previous holders (as at COB Thursday) will be offered the oppies

    the reason for the gap between the ex-date and the record date is to allow time for ALL purchases up to COB Thursday to be registered before taking a snap-shot of the share register
