Looks like the Darwin plant will continue to underperform until at least the end of 2007.
This from BEI's annual report:
"NFAL had a disappointing year due mostly to delays in commissioning of the Darwin NT biodiesel plant coupled with an increase in the price of palm oil. NFAL’s technology provider, Lurgi, has undertaken testing of a trial solution to the commissioning difficulties, and is expected to have the permanent solution in place by the end of calendar year 2007. Palm oil prices have retreated from their recent highs, and we are optimistic that they will return to a level at which the plant can run profitably. Work also continues on sourcing locally produced biodiesel feedstock."
