I only take notice of the SPI market depth when I see big orders over 100 and especially around support or resistance. Otherwise I ignore it. Yes I do have up to the second info but only having 5 rows makes it a bit tricky so you have to catch them when there is a bit of a raid happening - or so I have found after watching it for many years.
The thing is Treggs, these are not occasional big orders. They have been consistent today in particular and in the last few weeks have been more and more noticeable.
I do take your point though about SPI liquidity - though it is much more liquid than it was say 8 years ago. Overnight then sometimes there would only be a couple of hundred contracts. It seems much more popular now.
