cost cutting also tends to be one off in nature, insofar as once an expenditure has been removed, it cannot be cut again, eventually too costs creep up again as new equipment is acquired and maintenance is needed to keep operations going.
This is why costs of RIO and BHP have hardly come down in comparison to the rate of Fortescue's.
As of today i am assuming FMG's costs are in line with BHP's. ex finance costs.
Conclusion:
we know they'll be around for a century to come*
we don't really know were the SP will end up (LT) $1.69 ? $8.00 ?
We do know it will compliment well either BHP or GLN
