As i understand it they'll run each zone in isolation to find where the strongest gas flows are coming from and which zone is producing the most water. It could be (if an aquifer is involved) that the water hindering the gas is coming from one zone and it could also be that that zone is producing the least gas. Plug (bypass) the zone and prepare for liftoff.
I'd be interested in some posters technical assessment but in layman terms, thats the way I see it.
