A morning postscript for you @hotsupper re- the proxy theory that I forgot to mention last night (dopey):
We'll never know for sure, but it's entirely possible that some (much?) of the current short interest in PLS may be from int'l hedge funds that are bound by their investment mandates to only take direct positions in equities. I want to suggest American money, although it could be from anywhere, and all the potential wildness (volatility) that can come with it. It has a bit of a NASDAQ-esque vibe about it.
Just a thought.
