The rising dollar hasn't done one thing for me, except if I want to travel overseas, or buy some cheap electronics or an imported vehicle or the like, it may help business if they want to buy machinery from O/S? otherwise it just works against us.
In reality it was back in June last year the dollar was about US$0.85 for each Aussie dollar, it really didn't pass equity until January this year.
But our market has drifted sideways for some time now, when the US market goes up we don't or not much anyway, when the US market falls we do, we need to break that nexus, we are not in as much trouble as the US, well not yet anyway, but as looking4johngalt says , if our government keeps shooting itself and by virtue us in the foot, we may be soon enough.
