I went shopping last week here in SE Asia and Devondale UHT was sold out everywhere. I found one 1 litre carton on the shelf that had been placed behind some other brands.
At least they had Kameruka block cheddar ($6.75 for a 250g block ... but 20% more at the other) back in stock with some Bega M processed cheese (not that I buy it).
This week I went shopping and they've filled the shelves with Devondale UHT ($2.20 per 1 litre carton) in both major supermarkets here. So I grabbed some (it sells out quickly). I also got another Kameruka because it was already half sold out.
I want to hear from MG Asia Market Development Manager, Mark Clark. He is key to MG's future success. Please start selling Devondale block cheddar and foled wrapped butter here.
MG could sell all it's product to Asia.
I hope that farmer's eventually realise that through the past few years MG has been the good blokes in the global dairy downturn. They were never going to recover the MSSP, it was a measure to pay the farmers the promised FMP, while preventing successful unitholders legal action. For this reason their intentions were incommunicable.
Fonterra were the unscrupulous, as evidenced here:

If MG didn't force all processors to pay a high FMP during the global dairy downturn, then how many more farmers would've suffered?
