There's a four (business) day delay in reported shorts, so I'm not sure where your information comes from about it being 22,042. Mine comes from the attached screenshots, the ASX-produced chart, and Shortman.
If you go by the position of AZY on the shorts list, I agree it's not a big deal. I go by the sustained percentage increase, which I think is a big deal. Well...comparatively. It's not like Flight Centre, that's for sure. But I think it's significant when a company the size of AZY is the target of shorters, who have maintained and increased (by my records) their position at 4c and below.
