Have you seen FMG's media release this morning? AGO signs a Heads of Agreement with FMG for usage of both Rail and Port access.
IMO, it really comes down to publicly siding with NWIOA or going it alone to get a deal with BHP or RIO. UMC have chosen to go it alone rather than be embroiled in what could turn out to be detrimental in securing longterm contracts. FMG are using the NWIOA for its own agenda against the Bigboys.
I think UMC have chosen the correct path.
Would BHP or RIO sign a deal with any of the NWIOA considering they have publicly sided with FMG?
Why would they when they can strike a deal with UMC that has high grade DSO, close to their infrastructure and plenty of opportunity for other deals with the high quality projects on offer.
