Waves, beach at $1b centre

A wave pool will be built as part of Darwin's $1 billion waterfront development.

There will also be a beach protected by a stinger-proof net.

The contract for the massive development has been won by the Darwin Cove Consortium, Chief Minister Clare Martin announced yesterday.

The consortium is made up of Territory firm Sitzler Bros, ABN Amro, Barclay Mowlem, Henry Walker Eltin, Toga and Ogden.
