I think they could do with more PR expertise. Does the market even know they were at the Photonics West event this year? I don’t think it ever made it to an ASX announcement, which, albeit only an industry stand, could be enough to interest new investors.
There are some companies that overdo PR, but my impression is that BLG is not investing in true PR expertise at the minute, so it remains in the shadows. From memory they didn’t even post their Local Hero award on the ASX itself. When things like that are left to be found out only by those in the know and hunting for it, something is wrong, it’s almost an arrogance and not paying due respect to investors. The fact that we google search a photo of a jolly evening at the awards evening spent by all, is all the more disappointing. First on their agenda before celebrating should have been notifying the market, THEN they would be entitled to celebrate.
Companies are a total package, and PR and comms is not a strong fact of BLG’s package at present.
And as I’ve commented elsewhere, the quarterly results were posted almost with disdain in their lack of detail and explanation for worried investors.
I LOVE BLG, but this aspect really needs to be addressed going forward.
