Even Japan, which allowed Fukushima disaster to occur by gross poor management by TEPCO, despite numerous warnings about the inadequacy of their tsunami wall, and the failure to have backup secure power for the reactor cooling system .... has restarted all its Nuclear power plants, and is intent on building more.
South Korea has 26 self designed and constructed NP's and has a flourishing industry, constructing NP's around the world.
The oil rich nations like Saudi and the UAE, are building NP's despite having all that sun .... now why could that be ?
They don't seem to think its dangerous or will have an effect on their tourism, based on constructing mega sized, fully air-conditioned malls, complete with indoor snow ski facilities.

Even war torn Ukraine relies heavily on nuclear power .... Chernobyl was a bad design NP, that doesn't exist any more, and the predicted death toll from this disaster never remotely eventuated ... ditto Fukushima, where a very few died form radiation, but many more died from "relocation".

Why is A OK to spend A$360B (conservatively) on 8 nuclear submarines, but not a 1/10 of that on 8 Nuclear Power plants of proven design, that will last 60-80yrs ?
Why turn a blind eye to Lucas Heights nuclear reactor which makes indispensable nuclear isotopes used in "nuclear medicine" in Australia ?
Why does Australia not have one university department of nuclear engineering ? Whose going to man those subs ?
There is not a singe country in the world that relies entirely on "alternative energy" sans nuclear.
