Priority for spare cash flow as follows-
1/ Pay down debt.
2/ Look to grow the business where cost effective.
3/ Reward Shareholders but without going overboard
4/ Buybacks ( they are not evil as they reduce the shares held and shareholders will see better share price and dividends long term)
And the first two are interchangeable, because sometimes a project to grow the business makes so much sense financially that it outweighs the benefit cost wise of paying down debt and reducing interest burden.
