I'd presume long. Putting that much money on the table just to exit following a short term gain is very risky. For one there is no guarantee a market could absorb that volume and maintain desired exit price - today had special circumstances, and I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't the general expectation by both sides today mitigating the price movement.
