Company doesn't want anyone getting wind of their master plan. So they neglect their obligation to shareholders on the basis that one day the SP will reflect the value of a major system 5 dairy.
In my opinion the directors could still be respectful to small owners of the company with regular updates whilst keeping negotiations confidential. Even if it were just a monthly update to let the members know the company has a pulse would demonstrate some sort of ethics and corporate governance.
