    A few points
All these small businesses need these EFTPOS terminals no matter what. Rather than just passing on the cost this ban may make them shop around for more cost effective EFTPOS terminals. Therefore lower cost providers may gain market share.
When you buy a cup of coffee for say $5 you don't pay a cup fee or a table and chair fee or a smile from the waiter fee, even GST is factored in. Why pay an EFTPOS fee.
It would cost the business more to deal in cash than EFTPOS. For cash they have to have change, calculate change, take their profits to the bank for counting, security issues etc.
Businesses compete against each other in a market economy which is roughly what sets prices.
Anyone been to USA? It's hard to know what you're going to end up paying. Surely we don't want this drip/dynamic pricing in Australia.
I'm for the ban and I think Tyro will benefit from it.
