I worked as a rotary wing paramedic for a decade and I can tell you that this jetpack will be a laughing stock in the emergency provider community. A 15 kilometer range would be completely useless, as you also require a conservative fuel reserve to make it back to base, without having to deploy the parachute, which I have no idea if it has yet gained certification. Also 40 kilometres per hour? That is the speed, not to be exceeded in a school zone within peak time periods. Did you also read this passage in their last newsletter? "the cost of each Series 2 aircraft will be higher than originally anticipated". I can foresee a small disaster for the 100 plus employees working there, the shaken Christchurch community and New Zealand as an aspiring aviation market entrant. No wonder, MJP skipped their July newsletter.
