I seriously doubt there's any suggestion that anyone will actually use jetpacks on golf courses! That's not the point at all I think. In the same way that nobody's using hovercraft on golf courses. What l imagine they are trying to do is to get the product into the public consciousness using innovative approaches. Google "golf jetpack" and see how many news sites are running that story. This I think is exactly the point. There's a lot of noise in the market these days and you have to sing a different note to get noticed. The same old marketing approaches won't cut it. I bet you there are many people who have no interest in golf but know Bubba Watson for his crazy antics with hovercraft and jetpacks. This builds his personal brand, raises its value and ultimately translates to dollars.
Also, remember that the priority of Peter Coker and his team is not to raise the shareprice!(at least I hope not)
Back in the 90s we'd tech firms whose priority was to raise the share price,divorced from business fundamentals.We all know how that story ended! I very much doubt (&seriously hope not!) that Coker and crew sit there all day watching the charts and go oops,the sp dropped 5% today, better rush out a press release!
I've met them all&the impression I already had was reinforced, that they're a highly experienced,qualified and motivated group of professionals who're committed to producing a global product of unmatched quality and utility. I think it would be unreasonable for us to expect much more than that from them. The share price will subsequently reflect their efforts. Re: your point about the sp going south on a daily basis.Another way of looking at it is to reflect that over a year and a half since MJP debuted at 40c it's consistently remained well over that. WITHOUT HAVING SOLD A SINGLE JETPACK!That's a miracle quite frankly. I respectfully submit that it's unreasonable to expect big upward moves in the sp of a pre-revenue company. That would make me very very nervous because I'd wonder what's behind the moves. A fairly consistent sp in the lower range makes more sense at this stage of the company's lifecycle. Another miracle is that, unlike many other engineering projects of a similarly innovative and groundbreaking nature, the jetpack has not suffered any disasters,delays or cost overruns. It's STILL ON TARGET!! This almost never happens. The V22 and the F35 easily spring to mind.
I advise patience,because the technical and regulatory complexity of this project do not necessarily coincide with the monthly newsletter cycle. Like I said,people on this and other forums clamoured for frequent updates,then when they got them, whinged that there was no variation between one newsletter and the next!
This alone is a very powerful argument for companies staying or going private when they can!
I'm not pretending to know in detail what Martin management are doing or planning and I certainly don't presume to speak on their behalf. My optimism could very well be spectacularly misplaced. But so far I see no evidence to make me believe things aren't on track. Time will tell. I'm just another shareholder putting my opinion out there. I'm not wanting to get you riled up either. I've seen people unnecessarily get worked up on this forum. I suggest you contact Martin through the contact form on their site with your questions and concerns and Mike Tournier and his brilliant team will promptly and truthfully address them. Have faith, and best of luck

With a 20% loss so far today and no doubt in my mind, more to come after MJP's latest announcement, you might want to rephrase some of your statements:
- "I'd wonder what's behind the moves"
- "the jetpack has not suffered any disasters, delays or cost overruns"
- "My optimism could very well be spectacularly misplaced"
- "I see no evidence to make me believe that things aren't on track"
