There are still several people left holding the bag, empty ones - just maybe not the ones you may know.
Shares are risky - so is flying in a jet airliner. Is it the individual's fault that a plane crashes? By buying a ticket to fly and then getting on a plane, one puts a lot of trust in a system which could be perilously flawed. Is the plane maintained properly, is the pilot experienced enough in abnormal conditions etc - but we fly, nevertheless (C19 notwithstanding).
Whether it's shares or planes or whatever, one puts their trust in a system not expecting to be let down, but alas it happens and whilst we buy units or a ticket or whatever, when something goes wrong it doesn't always follow that it's our fault entirely. Of course, in hindsight one wishes one didn't get involved in the first place.
When a company goes into VA you lose your money but are still breathing, when a plane crashes you potentially lose your life and stop breathing. Who is really responsible?
