Populist voters are sort of like 8 year olds that still believe in Santa and the Easter Bunny. At the back of their minds they know its a farce but they goad themselves into believing otherwise for a couple of weeks. Simplified realities make them happy and also lead to some extra goodies.
Why not use credit to over stimulate an already growing economy in a false it will make everything better in the longer term. Why not borrow from the future and have some fun in the present. Bad or inconsistent news is just fake news.
Emerging market defaults will be a wake up call that arrives too late for idiot populist politicians and their followers.
