common sense suggests to me a child has a better chance of success in life with both a male and female role model so I agree, but don't know whether hard evidence supports that. -----------------------------------

I think mother nature is hard evidence enough.
If she thought they would make good parents, then she would give them children the natural way.
RSPCA have plenty of dogs and cats that will love a home and attention.
They make good family members,that love you back unconditional.
