Mauy Thai, hands down the most effective in a street fight closely followed by Ju-Jitsu.
The ultimate would be a combination of the two.
Mauy Thai relies heavily on brute force and has a lot of shock value. You can really really hurt someone very quickly if you know the right technique and are somewhat strong from doing heavy bag and pad work.
Ring fighting is a game of probabalities IMO which comes back to who has the best technique. This is no different on the street.
The downside to Mauy Thai is that you cannot grab with mits on and if you go to the ground you are useless.
That's where Ju-Jitsu comes into it.
Who would I have fight for me if my life depended on it? My former Muay Thai instructor whom was not only an unbelievably gifted athlete but a born fighter and yet one of the nicest people I've ever met.
