I need to look into just what patents are in regards to what will stop someone else copying it XX years down the track. there is a limited window in which they have a free kick so to speak. As they develop the aircraft they will be able to add to their patent portfolio to try and keep competition at bay. There is always risks. another risk is that every client will want it modified to suit their purpose in some manner . that is time consuming and manufacturers always underestimate the time and cost it takes to achieve this so when a client partner comes in the $ they bring is often absorbed on these mods to get sale complete not on improving base vehicle . It is the land of small cap investing 5 in 200 gets it right , 20 get something and a lot fail and it takes them a long time to fail so there is lots of risk but at least these guys have a product unlike many pie in the sky things listed on hot air. The niche you have to find for these guys has to be something where short duration flight time and low ceiling is acceptable and end purpose can't be achieved by any other means .Then add in portability and skill of operator required as opposed to a electric autonomous drone in which large companies are investing millions in research along with huge consumer and industrial market. It is a small market in the end as other technologies are eating away at so many of the profitable and mass production edges so margins on supplying aerial photos etc are all gone now.
