Martin Bryant was a simpleton who should never have had access to guns. His kill rate was not so much base on skill as close proximity with a high powered automatic weapon where rounds could pass through several victims no a crowded shop.

As for the gun laws, perhaps it was an overkill but I'm pretty sure theres a lot more Australians alive because of it.

In fact I often think if Australians carried guns like the yanks, we'd be famous for our death toll.
