The Kulaks were land owners. Like Australian "farmers", these Land owners don't produce profits, they don't produce anything in fact, they simply extort rent and labour from others who are not considered to be land owners. These Kulaks were petty bourgeois who were burning crops during a famine. And Stalin didn't shoot them, he deported them.
