Big news - Mary Manning has left the building. Though very highly regarded I doubt it matters too much to investment performance in the medium term, the portfolio has been quite stable and she didn't swing for fences or hit any truth be told.
However, she was very good at doing media/marketing and was the face of EAI. Given LICs depend on demand vs supply I suspect when this news filters through the EAI discount will increase again until someone proves to capably fill her shoes.
It's always interesting to note the performance fantasies of most fund managers. Ellerston is pretty typical.
Ellerston claims Inception (Sept 2015) to 31 May 2021 performance is 8.77% annualised (after all fees and expenses).
Here is the Total Shareholder Return compared to the Benchmark (15 Sept 2015 to 16 June 2021) done in Sharesight:
EAI: 4.63%
AAXJ: 10.23%
