Had an email from a young Indian friend and ex employee.
She is ready to pull up sticks , and 3 generations of her and her children and even her mother and father are looking to go to NSW (Nowra ) now that the citizenship rules have been changed . Reason for the move is the high cost of living in NZ mainly and the poor standard of education
Her kids are not getting taught the basics at school
Her father who owns a dairy and mother are close to retirement age her father (born in India) feels the crime in NZ (retail ram raids ) and hospitals are worse than Bombay India , which I imagine is quite shocking
Elbow seems to have done a complete 180 on NZ Citizenship , maybe if he had restricted it to those who had parents or grandparents that were Australian (like the Brits do ) it would have been more appropriate . My guess there is going to be a mass exodus from NZ , given all the social problems they are having there coupled with the high cost of living , can not be good for either country.
