You should do what is right not what is popular, to be considerate of traditions and evolving modern ideas because without reason you only devolve into rooting for an team in opposition of another which is debased primal human instincts.
What is a 'debased primal human instinct?'
Does that mean the instinct changes to a simpler animal form?
Is that what you mean by devolve?
I find your statement is confusing and maybe it could be simplified.
