If this has legs then Anvil may as well shut down, cut off the sources of income to 400+ workers and families and associated downstream businesses. Close the school and hospital and walk away.

S&G will find it hard to get any real money out of Anvil because they haven't got any, Congo citizens wil be the ones hurt, Australian business confidence will also suffer. And some mum and dad shareholders will loose $100m of value

And if a few Congolese do manage to get some money in 5 or so years, then what will they do? I bet they won't pour in back into the community because they will be out of Congo living as a refuge in Australia or Europe.

Sound like S&G are trying to do anyone any good other than themselves? A big fat NO from this punter.
