Hinton Coal Project
* Thermal coal project with plans for open pit mining- JORC due to be completed by June 2009
* Based on the substantial drilling undertaken by Esso, independent consultants have assessed an initial exploration target in-situ tonnage of 80 Mt to 100 Mt of coal contained in nine separate seams, with potential for substantial increases in target tonnage with additional exploration
* The coal is hosted by the Coalspur Beds Formation which consists of approximately 1,000m of interbedded sandstones, siltstones, mudstones, bentonitic layers and coal. The coal bearing package is approximately 250m thick.
* Coal leases in total covering approximately 4,624 hectares- lease applications have recently been made for an additional 350 hectares adjacent to the Hinton Coal Project
* Coalspur Project cover approximately 3,424 hectares and is located approximately 6km south west of the Project
* Scoping study will commence immediately following the completion of the JORC
* The Project is located 3km from the main line of Canadian National Rail
* The Project is close to established infrastructure (including power) and a potential labour force.
*The Project occurs along strike from Canada's largest export thermal coal mines and located near existing underutilised processing facilities.
* The project neighbours with Sherritt's Coal Valley mine (4.0mtpa - thermal coal for export)
