How many regimes/governments have been dismantled without a 'war' in recent times.Marcos was deposed,South Africa was changed,Soharto in Indonesia,Shah of Iran,the Generals in Greece and Argentina,Russia and the Eastern block,and others that I do not recall.The other changes due to warfare in Central America,Africa,the Balkans and the Middle East are hardly successes,whereas the almost peacefull changes are longer lasting.The world is becoming more sophisticated and able to change regimes by other means,leaving war as an inefficient blunt instrument.Africa hasn't reached this level of sophistication but will soon come under the influence of the alternative methods.Greed seems to be the fuel of warfare.
