Sirius soars on promising nickel prospect

Shares in Sirius Resources have surged as much as 19 per cent this morning after the nickel aspirant said it made another promising discovery near the Fraser Range region of Western Australia.
Having previously found enough nickel and copper in the Nova and Bollinger deposits to support a highly profitable mine lasting more than ten years, the drilling results published today suggest the company could have caught the tail of another significant prospect about 80 kilometres away.
Sirius’ first drill hole into a prospect known as Polar Bear, located in Lake Cowan near the town of Norseman, has struck more massive nickel sulphides, not disimilar to those found at Nova.
The miner has reported a 4.1 metre section containing 3.8 per cent nickel and 2.45 per cent copper, as well as another shorter section with hits of just under 6 per cent nickel.
