Perhaps they were concerned by all the pilots Ergo has started over the last 10years and none have reached a commercial status.

Perhaps they were indeed. Perhaps they weren't.

Seems more likely that Ergo wasn't seriously considered because Ergo's area of focus is shallow, vertical drilling UCG, and these guys are interested in EXTREMELY deep CRIPS-style UCG.

Completely different area of expertise required. In fact the technical difficulties of drilling a lateral well at 1400m are extremely significant, particularly when you're liable to get casing failure as happened to ALL THREE of the Australian UCG companies. Bad when it's a vertical well, disastrous when it's a lateral.

I won't jump on Swan Hills and trash their company like SG has trashed Cougar for two reasons. Firstly, while I have identified something I think is a serious liability for this company vis-a-vis Cougar, I am not an expert in it and will need to find out a lot more about them and how they plan to deal with it before I'd feel justified criticising them.

Secondly, if Swan Hills does end up succeeding, I'd look like a real idiot if I'd been trashing them on a public forum, wouldn't I? :)
