Sydney - Wednesday - April 30: (RWE Australian Business News) -
Lonrho Mining Ltd (ASX:LOM) has completed an airborne magnetic and
radiometric survey over a 1000 sq km target area for the Lulo Diamond
Concession in Angola with "exceptionally encouraging results".
Certainly comes under notice:
Interpretation by Lonrho's independent geophysical consultant
has identified 217 magnetic anomalies, of which an estimated 160 are
considered likely to be kimberlite pipes.
The company believes the diamond potential of this kimberlite
cluster is very high given the activity of an estimated 6000 artisanal
diamond miners within the Cacuilo River terraces.
A drilling program will commence this year on the six largest
anomalies to confirm the presence of kimberlites.
A bulk sampling program will commence this quarter on the
alluvials following completion of base camp construction.
