Western-Australian mining exploration and development company GGG Resources plc
(AIM: GGG) is pleased to announce the appointment of a Technical Sub-Committee
to co-ordinate the feasibility and development of the Bullabulling gold mine in
Western Australia. The Technical Sub-Committee will be chaired by Michael
Short, with geological and resource expansion input by the company's Technical
Director Ciceron Angeles and Managing Director Jeff Malaihollo.
Michael Short is a Civil Engineer with over 35 years of project management and
site construction experience on a broad range of mining projects. For the last
30 years he has focussed on the engineering, design and construction of gold
and base metal treatment plants. Michael is the Managing Director of GBM
Minerals Engineering Consultants Limited. His previous experience includes work
on projects in the Coolgardie region and in other areas of Western Australia.
In addition, the Company is pleased to announce the appointments of John Barton
and Mark Pitt as engineering consultants to the Company.
The new consultants will be working with the Technical Sub-Committee of GGG
Resources plc on the reopening of Bullabulling, a former gold mine in the
Coolgardie Goldfields of Western Australia.
John Barton is a Mineral Processing Engineer who was the past President of the
Western Australian Mining Club and held various managerial positions in major
engineering and geological/mining consulting firms in Perth. He has over 40
years' experience and strong project management skills, in particular his
experience embraces developing new or upgrading existing mining projects,
including the preparation of feasibility studies to bankable standard.
Mark Pitt is a Mining Engineer with over 40 years of experience. He specialises
in rejuvenating mines and projects that have stalled or been abandoned by
previous operators. More recently he was a Director and Chief Operating Officer
of Dioro Exploration NL, with a focus on the operating Jubilee and Frog's Leg
gold mines to the west of Kalgoorlie, prior to its takeover by Avoca Resources.
Peter Ruxton, Chairman of GGG Resources, comments:
"We are delighted to announce the formation of the Technical Sub-Committee of
the GGG Board and the appointment of two highly experienced engineering
consultants with West Australian experience. Our intention is now to focus on
fast-tracking both resource expansion and project development at Bullabulling
to maximise shareholder value during the current high-price gold market window.
Should we gain sufficient control over the Bullabulling project, our plan is to
accelerate the resource definition and expansion programme, and to run in
parallel with all aspects of feasibility and development studies. Given its
previous mining history, Bullabulling presents a unique opportunity to
fast-track development and financing to put this historical gold mine back into
production as soon as possible."
