I love profiling people, and then seeing how correct I am, and I am sometimes right, and sometimes wrong. I usually base this mind game on reported crimes. In the case of the backpacker murders, my profile was a white man, at least middle-aged, who liked guns (spent cartridges found at his camp site), and with a self-image based on American cowboy movies (because of the style of his camp fires being similar to how Hollywood depicts them). Anyhow, Ivan Milat, who called himself Tex, sometimes wore cowboy-style clothes and he had a gun collection.
How is this for a profile that will certainly not be correct in its detail. A bankrupt with gambling and debt-welching history (personally or family member) of of South East Asian origin who has a persecution complex, and a Quixotic fantasy of righting perceived wrongs, with a peculiar focus on Westpac, CCP, Panthera (maybe), Crown Casino, ASIC, AFCA and AUSTRAC, and some individuals in those organisations (Thomas Beregi, Don Mclay and Helen Coonan).
