Agree on the buying on Friday, it wasn't large volume but it was strong buying. I was a bit suprised it dropped 10.5% in the morning, but there was panic selling going on all over the ASX. Not suprised it recovered well though as the whole ASX was in oversold territory on Friday Morning.
Blades1973 i think you may be getting your crosses crossed over! I wrote about a golden cross in a recent NWE post. The charts at the moment show a death cross = total opposite to the golden cross.
The golden cross happens based on 50 and 200 moving averages and not on the MACD. Maybe you mean the MACD is about to go positive which IS a good thing, but i won't pre-empt anything in this market at the moment (don't believe it till it happens).
