re: massive property dha (defence) had a quick look in western australia - and on a $300,000 property, the rent is about $250pw . subtract 16% management fee - then that leaves $210. then less the other costs - land tax, council rates, insurance, water - make that another $50 per week - and the net now is $160 per week- then pay tax at say 30c in the dollar, and then the amount in the pocket is about $110 per week. this is probably representative of all property, and would be acceptble if property doubles in value, in a short period, but as far as looking at an income stream - not really worth it
