The union-bosses have obviously targeted the fabulous lifetime retirement perks that politicians can get for just a few terms in office as a dumping ground for masses of useless and aging union thugs who can be laundered and financed into convenient electoral seats as labor party candidates...

With massive union funding and backing from the army of union foot soldiers on the ground for voter canvassing and if necessary thuggery and intimidation, the union thugs can be elected in seats where the incumbents or opposition can either be "pursuaded to step aside" or simply do not have the financial and manpower resources to compete with the union-backed thugs...

Similarly propaganda media organs in league with the union-boss controlled labor party, like the ABC, can relentlessly sabotage and destroy any candidate they target for destruction...
