Minerals and Energy's (ASX:GGG) Kvanefjeld uranium and rare earth
elements project has results from completed drill holes that have been
logged by a high definition spectral gamma tool developed by Auslog.
Uranium is a universal constituent of the Kvanefjeld
multi-element deposit and is being used as a pathfinder to the overall
body of mineralisation.
The uranium values are immediately available to help define those
areas where exploration should be focussed, including
the point at which drill holes should be terminated.
Mineralisation is continuous and all 20 holes intersected
significant mineralisation.
Individual zones may be in excess of 100m thick.
Composite intersections are the norm.
On average each of the 20 holes intersected 89.4 metres of
mineralisation grading above cut-off.
Mineralisation is open at depth as 7 of the 20 holes finished in
mineralisation.
Resource grade is supported with 21 of the 26 holes reported to
date returning thick intercepts in excess of 400 parts per million.
To date 3.7t of drill core - comprising 1,007 samples from 8
drill holes - has been shipped to Perth for multi-element analysis.
The shares were up 7c to $1.27.
