Good post Stoeger The proposed national park covers the north easterly aspect of the lease Hence the view to barge on the Roper River(as opposed to the trucking to point Roper) Mining leases in the NT and Federal national parks are nothing new up here Just look at Compass resources (now in recievership) Litchfield Park and ERA in Kakadu The proposed national park is for tourism and a place for adventourous southerners to camp in a place where they have showers, electricty and a bar to share the adventours. And more importantly to them a feeling of security in numbers.. no putting a swag out by the river for these happy campers. Presently on that road there are a few places. I have spent time in the Limmen fishing camp (on the Roper)not fancy, generator off @2200 hours, the owners do not want the proposed national park to go ahead. If the proposed National Park gets the go ahead it will have no impact on the operations. Its the mighty Roper not the Limmen we need to concentrate on Just hope the workers do not fish out a beautiful river
And Norm is a Territorian
